Plein
Soleil Foundation is made of two organisations : one Haitian, ‘La
Fondation Plein Soleil’ and one French ‘ l’Association Plein Soleil’. Both were established by
Françoise Vaillaud at the end of 1985. The goal was to build and run an
elementary school for the children in need of suburbs. These children, roaming the streets or idle in
the slums, would not otherwise go to school. Financing would come from the
sale of Haitian paintings, forged irons and craft. An indirect consequence
would be to help the artists who are facing the collapse of tourism
activity. Between 1986 and today The
Foundation organized around 30 exhibitions, in Europe and the United
States, displayed mostly in City Halls, Museums, Cultural Centers and
Corporate Headquarters. . Bylaws of ‘La Fondation Plein
Soleil’ were published in the ‘Moniteur de la République Haïtienne’ (the
Haitian official gazette) dated November 27th 1986 (Nr 96) Association Plein Soleil is
incorporated as a non profit organization under the 1901 French Law,
‘Journal Officiel de la République Française’ dated July 24th
1985. Françoise
Vaillaud is President of both organisations. Fondation Plein Soleil Address Pélerin 3 # 14, Pétion Ville
